Laurance Alvarado is co-founder and chief executive officer of Claris Data, a health care software company for at-risk health care plans and providers that empowers users and optimizes decisions to yield demonstrable and meaningful returns. He has held executive positions within multiple global financial and consulting organizations including KPMG, BearingPoint and Alvarez & Marsal. His work has focused on corporate governance and organizational excellence initiatives, turnaround and restructuring projects, sustainable supply chain and cost reduction analysis, and performance measurement and management implementations. Most recently, he has focused on how to improve care coordination, preventative care, shared decision-making, secure communications and patient engagement for those health plans and providers across the country commonly bound in the mission of delivering patient-centric care.
Tim Schulze is a co-founding member of our health care technology and services company. He is responsible for product management, IT operations, and client support services. He has over 16 years of experience developing and managing development projects. Before Claris, Mr. Schulze was Director of Product Development working for 11 years of a custom built utilization and case management software. He has worked within and in collaboration with multiple Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), Managed Services Organizations (MSOs), and health insurance plans. He began his career as a Software Engineer for Hewlett Packard and E-Stamp.
Wells Shoemaker has practiced primary care pediatrics for over 25 years in California’s Central Coast. As Medical Director, he is responsible for providing expertise in clinical matters to the product development. He has spent 20 years in medical directorship roles culminating with eight years as medical director of the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG). At CAPG he led the Standards of Excellence Survey, a comprehensive annual inventory of care management infrastructure. Dr. Shoemaker was extensively involved with QI and medical policy work, networking with over 30 healthcare agencies in California and beyond. He has served on the board of Watsonville Community Hospital, opened a NICU, and developed one of northern California’s first hospital-based lactation centers. He co-chaired the California Quality Collaborative nine (9) years and sat on the steering committee 15 years. He served on the expert advisory panel for Governor Brown’s “Let’s Get Healthy California” taskforce and co-chaired the workgroup charged with “redesigning the healthcare system.”
Alvin Quiñones is a co-founder of Claris and is responsible for client relations and operational implementation of our products. He has nearly two decades of experience in performance improvement in the healthcare sector. He has worked to steer the product development of Electronic Health Records (EHR), Utilization Management and Case Management systems. Most recently, he has designed implementation standards for health care technology for Medicare Advantage, Medicare, and commercial health plans. Mr. Quiñones began his career in the United States Air Force. He has supported project to improve federal Medicare appeals reviews, worked with Los Angeles County welfare to work program, conducted an analysis of the Puerto Rico Department of Health, and led a Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse initiative for the New York State Department of Health.
